I have been a chef nearly my entire life - it doesn't define me though - I have a wide range of interests beyond cooking, but cooking and everything related with it is what I do best. It is my comfort zone. Writing is what I do second best - a close second. But cooking is what pays the bills. Even though I have written for money; its the chef gig that brings home the big bucks....that's a joke, I am by no means wealthy. I am just another member of the disappeared middle class struggling to keep it together.
american classics (twain, art (collecting it, bad covers, black metal, chinese opera, collecting lps and listening to live music, criterion channel, death metal, faulkner, fitzgerald), going to museums), haruki murakami, hemingway, i have a minor, jim harrison, jingoistic war movies, kid singers, looking at it, mcu, modern religious dramas, most anything but new (pop) country, most hair metal, most movies but not a huge rom/com fan, most science fiction, not much fantasy, painfully earnest americana, pop gospel/hymns, soundscapes, steinbeck, trash tv and an abiding love for pop culture., writing (of course), yet somewhat strong obsession with true crime
